Week 41: Hitting the Streets in Batavia

Hey guys!

This week was a really good week! We have been out in the streets trying to find new investigators and we had some success! We were able to give away seven copies of the Book of Mormon and even found some investigators to teach. No wonder Batavia is known throughout my mission as the promised land lol We are going to invite one of our investigators to pick a baptismal date! I hope he accepts. We are working hard to get each of our other investigators to this point as well.

The members in Batavia are warming up to me. I decided to just reach out and get to know the members and love them. They are all very nice people but I’m still missing Buffalo quite a bit.

Hey guess what? I had the opportunity to help our organ player at church yesterday. His name is Brother Haggerty. He is so talented! He is blind but still plays the organ. He has such an amazing gift! I couldn’t stop thinking about mom while I was helping him. I had such a fun time getting to play around on the organ too. I wish mom could have been there to watch me play.

The spiritual thought I’d like to share with you this week is on obedience. Obedience is very important not only when applied to the commandments but to the mission rules as well. With obedience comes many blessings such as comfort and protection. When we are obedient we will be protected from the adversary as well as actual danger. We will also be comforted by the spirit when we are obedient. It is not worth it to be disobedient and risk these blessings! I’m so grateful to be around missionaries that are great examples to me in obedience.

Dad- That is so awesome President Nelson sent you a letter about the next stake conference! Speaking of, have they released any information about the two new apostles?

I love package you guys sent me!! I really liked the pictures and the zombie statement haha I loved the Buffalo shirt too! Thank you so much!

We will be hitting the streets hard again this week giving away copies of the Book of Mormon and finding more and more investigators. Wish us luck! :)

I love and miss you all!

Elder Peterson
