Week 87: Staying in Spencerport for a Second Transfer!

Hey!

First off, I’m sorry I’m writing to you guys so late today. It’s been a busy day! We received our transfer calls this morning. I’ll be staying put in Spencerport for a second transfer as well as remaining district leader (going on 5 months now!).

We had meetings with our zone leaders (Elder Gibby & Elder Gubler) earlier in the week and they shared a great message with us. They spoke on the importance of building our excitement to share the gospel and being obedient to the rules in the white handbook. They did a really great job and I enjoyed what they had to say. Then we got to play capture the flag! They likened the game to having ambition while doing missionary work. We also got a new zone leader this transfer! His name is Elder Wilson. It will be fun getting to know him better.

We found a new investigator! He is a really nice guy and straight up Jamaican! During our first visit with him, we had a lesson on the importance of the Book of Mormon and how it can help build your relationship with God. He shared his fears about the kind of world we live in which led to a really great discussion. The spirit was strong as we invited him to be baptized and he accepted!!! We will finalize a date later this week when we see him at our next appointment.

We also did a lot of service for a really nice brother in our ward. He has 10 acres of land and asked us to help take up all of the dead grass on his property. It’s one heck of a project! We were only able to get about half of it done. We finally ended up asking the Elders quorum to help us out. We’ll be able to get the job finished so much quicker with a few extra people.

I still can’t believe I’m almost done with my mission! Four months and four days left. Can you believe it? I’m getting so anxious to see all of you again!

I sure love and miss you all very much!!

Elder Peterson
